Switching Up Website Design Platforms for the Jacksonville NAACP

Hart SEO and the Jacksonville Branch of the NAACP have been working together for over a year now. The original website was created from scratch as a completely unique website layout, and coding. It was extremely fast loading but lacked certain functionality including the ability for the Jacksonville NAACP to edit, and update their own pages, lack of an online store if needed, and sign in ability for Committee leaders. These issues have now been taken care of by switching over to wordpress. Overall the site is the same design however with some updated and more clean font choices throughout it’s pages. The menu bar on mobile we believe is also a nice upgrade from their old site. As with any website we expect weekly updates, and changes to certain aspects of this site so check back on their site regularly to keep up to date. For the time being however this is how the website looks.

Some cool features of this  website is the newsletter subscription in their footer is directly connected to their mailchimp account so when visitors subscribe it is immediately added to their mailing list. The map in the footer is connected to their google my business page. Their new social media section on the home page is way cleaner than in the past, and automatically updates as they post to their Facebook page.

Their calendars are connected to Facebook, and Google calendar. So they don’t have to log into the website to make updates just into those accounts, and add the events, and then they will automatically be added to their website as well.

July Was a Big Web Design Month for Hart SEO

Hart SEO offers many services including Internet Marketing, Digital Marketing, Logo Design, Social Media Management, and Website Design. In July 2019 all of these services were utilized in one way or another from businesses all over the United States. However, the most popular service used by companies was the Website Design. Hart SEO started 5 new Website Design Projects in July, and finished 3 of them. The last 2 projects are almost complete just waiting on professional pictures/ testimonials to fill up their websites. Of these 5 website design projects Hart SEO also created 2 of the companies Logos, and helped set up social media accounts for 2 of the accounts as well.

EmbeLashed Faces LLC

EmbeLashed Faces was Hart SEO’s first Website Design project of July, and they needed help with Logo Design, help setting up a storefront on  their website, and a way to schedule appointments for their clients. EmbeLashed Faces already had an appointment scheduler through square so we Hart SEO decided to set up the storefront with Square as well. Throughout the website are buttons for the redirect towards scheduling an appointment with Square. The site looks elegant, and very simplified creating an easy navigating experience for their customers. The website continues it’s excellence throughout on mobile devices as well!

Hiking Trails Jacksonville, Florida was a for fun non profitable blog website that wanted to inform, and entertain people in Jacksonville about all of the wonderful hiking trails around the area. We made the website super user friendly, and as artistic looking as possible. The main point of the website was to have a lit of hiking trails where they are located and then an additional button of their take of what the hike was about through the blog.  The websites goals for the future is to try to rank highly for each of the hiking trails in Jacksonville, and become the #1 informant for this particular niche topic.

They met with Hart SEO regarding getting a professional website done mid July, and have almost completed that project for their company. All that we are waiting for to complete their website is their logo, and professional photos to display some of the work they have done for their clients. The company is very professional and does the job right and wants to show off some of their past work to their future clients! The picture below is simply the rough draft of their website and will include some changes specifically to their logo.

Gala’s Italian Water Ice was the last Website Design Project acquired during July. The company is located here in Jacksonville, Florida, and is just starting up. They plan on catering their services as well as pushing their brand through driving around neighborhoods. This project was extremely exciting for Hart SEO as they never had a fun colorful website opportunity to this degree. The website is super simplistic but to the point, and all of the conversion points pop out on the page. The site on mobile is just as good, and should help grab potential clients in the near future. Their logo was already made, and the creator did a wonderful job bringing their branding to life which helped us out a lot on the design side of the website.

Keyword Finder

A great ranking website is completely worthless if Google, Yahoo, and Bing don't know what your website is about. This next tool you probably already knew how to use, but just didn't know to use it to rank your website higher on search engines.

Steps

1. Go to your Website
2. Type ctrl+F at the same time this will pull up a little search bar in the top right of your screen.
3. Type 1 keyword you think potential clients will search online when looking for a similar company.
4. As you type it should highlight all the exact matches in your website and tell you exactly how many you have on that page.

Answer- Anywhere from 5-10 times is what Hart SEO recommends.

One of the keys for Search Engine Optimization is to properly insert keywords throughout the website to let Search Engines categorize your website properly as what you want it to be found under. Recently I went to check my domain authority however my score hadn't changed since the last time I checked it. I decided to find out how often our domain authority is updated, and to see if there was a direct schedule to the updates. I am obsessed with my Domain Authority as it directly predicts your overall success with your online rankings. I also love seeing the progress from all my hard work with my SEO techniques so being able to check the new scores as soon as they are updated is important to me. So what is Domain/ Page Authority? Domain Authority is a metric, developed by SEOMoz, to predict the ability of a website / domain to rank in search engines. Domain authority uses a 0 to 100 logarithmic scale. The higher a Domain authority score means your complete website / all the pages on your domain have a higher potential to rank well in search engine results. Page Authority is measured on the same metric as domain authority but just for the page you are testing, NOT the full website. I use this tool to see the progression of my sites potential, and also use it to see where I rank against my competition. With a new company it is important to work on your company's SEO so you can catch up to your competitors ranking. At the same time it is just as important for a well established company to keep pushing SEO techniques to stay ahead of the new competition coming in. Before Hart SEO in Jacksonville, Florida was established, I used to work on my own SEO for my basketball brand. I made a free website with Wix, and then did all my SEO techniques on it until I got the Domain Authority over 90/100. I haven't continued the SEO techniques on it over 6 months now, and the Domain Authority score has dropped to 30/100. I have recently done some work to reboost it a little bit and i got the domain authority back up to  67.59 .

This score still holds great strength, and the website still ranks first with keywords "Jon Hart Basketball", but as you can see the overall potential for the site has completely dropped off, and if their was any real competition related to my key words it wouldn't surprise me if my website would slip to the 2nd or 3rd page. As you can see if you have an established business with real competition, and you don't continuously work on your SEO you could also slip right off the first page, and we all know how important being on the first page is.  There are 2 ways you can maintain your domain authority, and Page Authority. The second option is that you do it yourself. Some good techniques is a daily blog that is directly connected connected to your business.
